Here is some helpful information that will make this web site easier to use:

1. When told that allowing the "Active X controls" to run my harm your computer, choose to "allow" the active X controls to run.. This will allow all of the features built into this presentation to work properly.

2. You can take a short cut to the opening screen by clicking on the first paragraph on the title page! Just click on "Welcome To Transition To Adulthood."

3. If you are connected to the internet, clicking on each logo on the title page will take you to that organizations web site.

4. If a listing has an asterisk ("*") at the beginning, you must have an internet connection to reach the document.

5. If a page does not have a BACK button, use the BACK <= button built into the top of your browser to return to a previous screen or menu.

Take your time and go through the menus that follow. You can go from page to page by just clicking on a menu item.

Some pages include a person reading the words on the page. A speaker icon will appear at the top when a spoken version is available. Click on the speaker icon to hear the text.

If you find that some of the menu items begin with words in parenthesis, for example (Disabilities), that means the file can be found in other places on the disk.

To make this CD we converted hundreds of files from their original format to a format that can be viewed using your internet software. The original files can be printed using either Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Word. Sometimes this will produce a better printed copy.

Using a file manager, like Windows Explorer, will allow you to see the original files. If you use a file manager, start by going to the "Champions For Progress" directory. Alternately, pressing this link will take you to a menu of the files.

These files are either in Microsoft Word format or Adobe Acrobat format. If you do not have either of these programs, viewers for these files are available for free by clicking on either of the following links: (You need to be connected to the internet for these to work.)

for Microsoft Word*

for Adobe Acrobat*

*Adobe and Microsoft are owners of their names and are in no way connected to this project.

One more bit of information; all of the following pages in this presentation can be printed. We recommend that you set your page margins to their widest and tallest. To do this click on the word File at the top of the screen and then click on Page Setup. In the box that opens, change all of the margins to zero or 0. Your computer will direct your printer to use the full page when printing.

We have tried to make this web CD easy to use and universal so it will work on most computers. We would appreciate hearing any problems you might have.

Enjoy and learn!
