BE A SPAN RESOURCE PARENT!!

SPAN Resource Parents (SRPs) volunteer to assist parents of children with disabilities to know their rights and responsibilities under the law and how to address questions or concerns about their child’s education and development. A 30-hour training on the federal and state early intervention laws; special education laws; and best practices in serving children with developmental delays and disabilities and on-going support help to prepare you for this important role.

Empowering families does not mean
giving or bestowing power on families -
the power is there by right.

As families, we recognize our
strengths and abilities. It is
through our advocacy that we
become effective partners and
agents for change.
