Parent Support Group
Specialists will provide Direct Technical Assistance and Leadership
Development Expertise for existing local Parent/Family Support Groups and
assist districts and parents in forming additional local Parent/Family
Groups.
The Support and
Assistance focuses on:
Assisting Groups in
Providing Opportunities for Families to Share Information and to
Problem-Solve Issues Regarding Their Child's Education.
Helping Groups to
Identify Areas of Need for Improvement Within Their Local
Schools/Districts and Strategies to Address Identified Needs Through
the Self-Assessment and Continuous Improvement
Monitoring Process Within Their Schools and Districts.
Through a
Collaboration Between SPAN and the
New Jersey Self-Help Group Clearinghouse, the Start Project Will Provide Training for Group
Leaders and Those Interested in Starting New Support Groups.
