 Outreach for Increasing and Maintaining Participation

v Reach out to the community (See ‘Media Links’ info. below.)
v Add an introductory letter to the mailing the district does in June or August to every family that has a v classified child
v Contact local radio stations and newspapers
v Leave post cards with information about the group at local doctors, therapists, and other areas in your community
v Have a table during the "Back to school night" with sign-in sheet, dates for upcoming meetings, and information on your group
v Make personal phone calls day of the meeting.
v Use multiple opportunities to get the word out including flyers, newsletters, newspaper, and websites.
v Mail flyers home in addition to sending them home in  backpacks.
v Use e-mail for Middle and High School families
v Invite families from surrounding communities
v Request that special services mail flyers to families whose children attend a school out of district
v Translate flyers into other languages
v Newsletter - you will reach parents that do not show up at meetings.
